FO: Gnoma

My knitting mojo tends to go in ebbs and flows. Near the end of 2022, I wasn’t really knitting anything. I had knocked out tons of Hats for Sailors the year before, and just couldn’t decide what to make. I felt I had enough of everything - enough hats, enough mittens - it just didn’t seem there was anything else to make that was practical.

Then I remembered that I had purchased a gnome kit a few years back from my LYS (which has sadly now closed) using the Here We Gnome Again pattern from Imagined Landscapes. I had started the gnome, messed up the cables, and put it in timeout. Probably only for about three years. :-)

Anyway, at the very end of 2022, I rescued it from timeout and started again. I had always had a vision that this would be my “library gnome” that I tucked up in my bookcases. This time, I took it slowly and did it correctly. And early in 2023, I finished it. My daughter declared it was a girl gnome named Gnoma.

Meet Gnoma, the library gnome.

And she turned out so, so lovely.

Check out that fab pompom!

So lovely in fact, that I quickly decided 2023 was going to be the year of the gnomes. I’ve already made several more, which I will introduce you to soon!
