Hi, I’m Amber! I have been a maker for as long as I can remember. From making friendship bracelets to starting little craft businesses with my mom, I have always been involved in creating beautiful things.

Over all these years as a maker, it has occurred to me how much waste there is in general crafting. Many times we pull out a kid craft, or a Dollar Tree holiday decoration hack, and these things don’t last and ultimately end up in landfill. As a minimalist and a person who is concerned for the future of our Earth, that did not sit well with me. But as a person who is always moved to be making something, that also worried me. How do I reconcile my desire for sustainability with creating? How do I create things I love without filling my house with junk?

That’s why I decided to start The Crafty Minimalist. Here, you’ll find patterns and products that are thoughtfully created, that have a long life span, and are at their core useful items. From reusable gift tags, to banners, to quilts, to soft toys, these items are meant to be made with a future in mind.

I truly believe that every handcrafted item item literally carries love, time, and attention that you are gifting to yourself or another. I can’t wait to share that joy with you!
